Challenge
The Nest Bed is a bed and breakfast with an on-site spa. A summer engagement with TASK had refreshed the brand and set a consistent look across the business's social channels, but its online presence still lived on those channels and on third-party listing and review sites. The follow-up asked how a website of its own could carry the new brand, present rooms, breakfast, spa services, and events in one place, and stay simple enough for the owner to maintain.
How the team worked
The fall team picked up where the summer engagement left off. Rather than reopen the brand work, it treated a website as the place where the refreshed look would live and worked from a meeting-by-meeting plan: survey the builders an owner could manage, map every page the site would need, and note the content the owner would have to supply.
The outline was built from what the property already offered. Rooms, the included breakfast and afternoon happy hour, the spa's service categories, past events, and the grounds each became a section, so the site would describe the stay as guests actually experience it.
Workstreams
- Compared website builders, including Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress, on how easily the owner could update the site without technical help.
- Researched alternatives to the third-party listing and review platforms where the business was already present.
- Drafted a page-by-page site outline covering the home page, an introduction to the property, rooms, breakfast, spa services, photos, events, location, social links, and contact.
- Organized the spa offering into service categories, with policies alongside, so the site could present treatments as clearly as the rooms.
- Gathered the kinds of events the property had hosted in the past, from bridal brunches to rehearsal dinners and business meetings, into a dedicated section of the outline.
- Started on the site's layout, design, and color palette, and listed the photos and owner input still needed to fill the pages.
What the client received
- Website builder comparison
- Page-by-page website outline
- Spa services structure for the site
- Content and photo checklist for the owner
- Meeting notes and next-step plan
Outcome
The Nest Bed came away with a structured plan for its own website: a comparison of platforms weighted toward ease of upkeep, a full page outline, a clear way to present rooms, breakfast, spa services, and events together, and a contact path that reaches the owner directly rather than only through third-party listings.
